Serving Others

At St Peter’s we like to serve people in the church and people in the community. There are a number of ways we do this, and it’s a great way to put our faith into action! In the places that we serve we also make friends with those who we are serving alongside and find that those we help often can help us as we share experiences together and grow together. If you have met with God at one of our services, why not serve God?

There are always opportunities to help in church, with flowers, welcoming, refreshments, singing or playing music, leading prayers or reading; with helping out our Children’s Team in Junior Church or Stepping Stones; with offering some of your time to our Visiting Team and pastoral care.

Or you could join in with other activities we are involved in – helping with the Key Project, our local foodbank or with Hospitality & Hope kitchen. You might like to help facilitate Messy Church – at St Peter’s or at our sister church St Cuthbert’s, or to help with our toddlers or youth work at St Cuthbert’s.

And when there are events, social and fundraising, there are always jobs to be done to make them run smoothly and be welcoming to all.

Please have a look at the events noticeboard in the Green Room, keep an eye out for volunteer requests on the weekly notice sheet, or speak to any of the ministry team or to someone facilitating an event you might like to be involved with in the future.
